3 Day Weekend
For a 3 Day Weekend, a group of four friends decide to shake things up in their usual routine and they each invite a single friend to see what happens. One of the “friends” is a hustler paid for the weekend. New relationships form, some get re-affirmed and others end.
Crutch
Crutch, “based on a true story”, tells the story of David (Eben Gordon) whose home life is falling apart with a philandering father and an alcoholic mother. David falls under the spell of his acting teacher Kenny (Rob Moretti – actor, writer, and director of the film). The controlling Kenny at first provides an escape from David’s family, but his situation doesn’t improve as he spirals down into drug abuse and confusion over his relationship with Kenny.
10 Attitudes
Josh (Jason Stuart), a successful caterer, comes home early and catches his lover of 10 years with another, much younger, man. After a little trauma, a friend convinces him to try dating 10 guys prior to packing it all in and moving back home. 10 Attitudes follows Josh’s humourous attempts to find a man, going through hustlers, married men, and the boy band obsessed. Jim J. Bullock, Judy Tenuta, and David Faustino put in appearances. Make sure to check out the DVD extras.
Luster
In Luster, Jackson (Justin Herwick) works in a record store and longs to be a poet. Jackson is obsessed with Billy (Jonah Blechman) a guy he met at a party who can’t be bothered and is oblivious to the guys who do want him: Derek (Sean Thibodeau), a customer in the record store, and Sam (Shane Powers), his straight friend who owns the record store who’s having major problems dealing with his attraction. And then Jackson’s hot cousin Jed (B. Wyatt) shows up drawing Jackson’s interest and tempting the local lesbians to go straight. A fair amount of comedic set ups, but not a happy movie.
