They’re a group of privileged young witch-boys on the swim team. Steven Strait, Sebastian Stan, Taylor Kitsch, Chance Crawford, and Toby Hemingway play the warlocks.
Sideline Secrets
Sideline Secrets (2005) attempts to mix a young man’s coming out story with a mystery / thriller about guys disappearing around town. Except for the occasional bits of nudity, it has the feel of an “afterschool special.” James Townsend is Devon a young man who is coming to grips with his sexuality who falls for a former (?) hustler Brian (Alex Wilson). He gets found out by his way dysfunctional family and finds his girlfriend is remarkably understanding (this was the part that was really hard to believe). He then finds himself embroiled in an unbelivably coincidental way in a scheme to force young twinks into prostitution. The unlikely chain of events gets more and more unbelievable to the point of being absolutely hilarious by the end.
Another New Theme
This one is called “Hitch” by Milo. I love the artwork in Milo’s themes. This one took a bit to customize, but I’m slowly getting there.
Hellbent
Billed as “the first ever gay slasher film,” Hellbent follows a group of young gay men who are off to a Halloween festival. Now a couple of things we learn:
- (1) When you live in a town with grisly unsolved mass murders, don’t go walking through the woods at night.
(2) When you do go walking through the woods at night anyway, don’t taunt the masked psycho killer, it just makes him mad.
(3) When you think you’ve escaped the masked psycho killer, wait to make sure before you let your boyfriend handcuff you to the bed.
But then we knew that. . . . right?
Dieux du Stade
Dieux du Stade: not quite a documentary (more like soft core porn), but follows the making of a calendar full of naked French rugby players. Hmmmm, naked rugby sounds like a sport I could get into.
Troy Ruptash & Vince Corazza
In Leaving Metropolis (2002), a well to do gay artist (Troy Ruptash) has hit a dry spell. To get a jump start, he becomes a part time waiter to get himself out of the house and find inspiration. He helps the married couple who own the diner to increase their business, and then finds himself painting and falling for the curious husband (Vince Corazza).
History Boys
In The History Boys (2006), Harry Potter’s Uncle Vernon (Richard Griffiths) is an aging school teacher who indulges in the occasional fondle as a younger history teacher (Stephen Campbell Moore), who is also gay, helps prepare the students (one of whom is gay, one of whom seems tempted) for their exams to get into Oxford and Cambridge.
