This one is called “Hitch” by Milo. I love the artwork in Milo’s themes. This one took a bit to customize, but I’m slowly getting there.
Forums
I’ve tried a couple of attempts at putting up a forum. I couldn’t get Xdforum to work like I wanted, it seemed to interfere with other plugns. I’ve got WP-Forum up and running and it seems to work fairly well for a light forum system that’s set up as a WordPress plugin. The plugin route just seemed better than trying to get an SMF bridge working.
Anyways, the link to the forum page is at the top of the blog. You’ll need to register to post but feel free to try it out.
New Theme
I found a new theme that seems kinda cool. It’s called Anaconda and comes widget ready. It took a couple of tweaks (for some reason, I like having the tags show up on the main page, not just on the single post page). The support forum page for the theme gave me a tip for the biggest problem (so far) which was the ends of some of the sentences being cut off. I kept looking in the body and the right side bar thinking the problems were there, but the forum pointed me to the left side bar, and voila, the broken words now show up.
I also spent time today upgrading some of the plugins (http://www.lesterchan.net/portfolio/programming.php). There was only brief panic when the whole darn blog shut down. Then I figured out to upgrade another plugin whose older version was conflicting with the upgraded one and needed upgrading itself.
Anyways, leave a comment here if the new format causes problems.
Protest too much. . . .
A post over on the Huffington Post discusses the age old chestnut: are homophobes really closet cases?
“There needs to be more public awareness that this sort of reaction is a pretty sure sign that the homophobe’s own homosexual urges are unusually strong, and that the poor devil is having a lot of trouble trying to keep them down.”
