The new Rob Williams film Role / Play centers around an outed soap opera star and a gay marriage activist. Graham (Steve Callahan) sees his career in ruins after a sex tape showing him with his boyfriend is leaked on the internet. Trey (Matthew Montgomery) is also having press problems when the story gets out that he’s divorcing his husband. The two seek refuge in a small resort where they meet and deal with their situations. David Pevsner is the resort owner and Jim J. Bullock is Graham’s agent. Good movie.

Pornography: a Thriller

Pornography: a Thriller revolves around the maybe, maybe not death of a 1980′s porn star in a snuff flick. Mark Anton (Jared Grey) was a famous porn actor who was semi-retired and gets offered a lot of money in the mid 1990′s to do a personal appearance for a fan who wants to interview him. When his agent tries to scam him out of the money, things go bad for Mark forcing him to do the interview he’d planned to skip. We then move to the present day where a writer Michael (Matthew Montgomery) is researching a book on gay porn. He ends up renting [with his is he real or isn't he lover William (Walter Delmar)]what may be the same apartment where the maybe snuff flick was filmed and finds an old video tape hidden in the wall. His quest to find answers to Mark’s fate drags him into weirder and weirder scenes. Finally, we come to the third tale of Matt Stevens (Pete Scherer), a present day porn star who decides to make a pornographic documentary of the Mark Anton story based on a dream he had, but then the dreams starts to take over. Apperances by Dylan Vox as Mark’s on screen partner and Steve Callahan as Matt’s producer.

Great movie, great cast.

Redwoods

Everett (Brendan Bradley) is in a lackluster relationship with Miles (Tad Coughenour) and seems to be sticking around because of their son and possibly the fact that their small town only has about a dozen people and pickings may be a bit slim. Everett is left at home when Miles takes their son to visit the grandparents. That’s when Chase (Matthew Montgomery), a writer looking for a place to revitalize himself, gets lost and stops to ask Everett directions. Everett appoints himself Chase’s tour guide and the two start to fall for one another. Even Everett’s parents and brother Shane (Simon Burzynski) start to fall for Chase, but will Everett leave his comfortable if boring life? Good movie, but not wild about the way it ended. Redwoods.

Glenn (Matthew Montgomery) gets tired of the “gay scene” and decides to respond to a personals ad found by one of his group of friends. Adam (Windham Beacham) the guy running the ad is a “shy romantic” from the south and has some trouble fitting in with Glenn’s California friends. The couple decides to hold off on sex until they get to know each other better, only to find after they’ve fallen in love, that the sex isn’t that great. A cute romantic comedy as they work their way through their relationship. Long Term Relationship.

In Back Soon, Logan (Windham Beacham) is a young widower selling his house. Gil (Matthew Montgomery), a stranger, shows up and buys it and the two straight men develop a friendship. When Logan’s car won’t start he stays on Gil’s couch. Dreaming about his dead wife, Logan sleepwalks and ends up in Gil’s bed. Is their relationship just two straight guys coming to a realization about themselves, or is there something more supernatural at work? Great movie.

Socket

Bill (Derek Long) is a surgeon who gets struck by lightning in Socket (2007). He falls for Murphy (Matthew Montgomerty of Gone but Not Forgotten), a young intern who’s been caring for him. Turns out Murphy had also been struck by lightning and brings Bill in to a group of lightning strike survivors who like to plug in and turn on. Taking things to the next level, Bill invents a better way to get his electric fix and things spiral out of control.
