Luke (Jesse Archer) is a, well, “free spirited” gay man who spends his evenings on “manhunts” with his friends. He runs into Stephen (Charlie David, from “Dante’s Cove”) at a bar who calls him a “gay cliche.” The two have another encounter and start to fall for one each other. Meantime, Luke’s co-worker, at a gay sex shop, Zeke (Cory Grant) discovers Stephen’s hustliing ad. The movie also follows Luke’s friends Peter (Steven Goldsmith) and Derek (J.R. Rolley) who’ve just moved in together and are working through their relationship with Peter being a control freak and Derek just wanting to be left to be himself. “A Four Letter Word” is a semi-sequel to Caspar Andreas’ “Slutty Summer.”
2 Minutes Later follows Michael (Michael Molina), a gay insurance investigator, who drops in to see his twin brother (also gay) Kyle, a famous photographer of male nudes only to find that Kyle has disappeared. Michael hooks up with lesbian detective Abigail (Jessica Graham) who was hired by Kyle’s agent and they begin to interrogate Kyle’s recent models (who run around mostly naked) to see what they know about Kyle’s disappearance. J. Matthew Miller, Joe Almanza, Grant Barker, Houston Bernard and Scott Spragg are some of the hot guys they have to grill to solve the case. It was a cute little mystery story – great way to spend some time and the DVD extras give us nice long (mostly nekkid) looks at the models / suspects.
During introductions at a convention, the Stargate SG1 cast are coming on stage. Michael Shanks kisses Amanda Tapping when he comes on stage, and Ben Browder plants a kiss on Shanks as he’s introduced (at around 2 minutes into the clip). The things that slash is made of. . . . .
Surrender Dorothy gives us a group of friends on vacation at a summer cottage. Sarah (Alexa Davalos) is a careless driver and, fag hag for Adam (Tom Everett Scott), who gets herself killed in an accident. Her mother Natalie (Dianne Keaton), moves into the vacation house with her daughter’s friends to work through her grief and drives the group nuts. Chris Pine, the new Captain Kirk, plays Shawn, Adam’s lover. Josh Hopkins is Peter one of the group of friends who’s having marital issues that don’t seem to be helped by having Keaton around.
In The Rundown, Dwayne (“The Rock”) Johnson is Beck, a bounty hunter (sorta), working for a mobster who’s son Travis (Sean William Scott) has run off to South America. Travis is searching for an ancient idol of gold that’ll make him rich. Beck just wants to bring Travis back, collect his money, and open the restaurant he’s always dreamed of. An action flick that gives good mindless entertainment. Christopher Walkin puts in an appearance as a bad man enslaving people in the jungle. And Sean William Scott ends up in handcuffs a couple of times.
